Catherine McKinnon The Voice Of An Angel – 1964- Folk, World, & Country ,Maritime (vinyl)
Near Mint *1 / R81
The Voice of an Angel was issued by Arc Records during the mid1960s, a period when Catherine McKinnon had become one of Canadas most recognized young vocalists through her appearances on CBC television and radio. Arc, known for documenting Canadian folk and regional performers, released this album to highlight McKinnons clear soprano tone and her interpretations of traditional and contemporary material.
The record reflects the early phase of McKinnons career, when she was performing maritime folk songs, British Isles ballads, and modern compositions arranged for voice and acoustic accompaniment. Her work during this period contributed to the broader Canadian folk revival, aligning her with artists who were bringing regional and traditional music into national circulation. Arcs production style emphasized straightforward arrangements, placing focus on McKinnons vocal delivery rather than elaborate instrumentation.
