Overshadowed by the blockbuster success of Dookie, Insomniac arrived in 1995 as Green Day’s deliberately rawer, scrappier response to the pressure of sudden fame. Recorded with producer Rob Cavallo, it leaned harder into the band’s punk roots and gave deep cuts like “Brain Stew” and “Geek Stink Breath” a life that extended well beyond the album cycle. The Prague live material here is a genuine document of that touring machine at full throttle.
