Description This Canadian Cooking Vinyl pressing (COOK 006) captures The Oyster Band in their early, fiery folkrock periodpolitically sharp, melodically strong, and driven by fiddle, melodeon, and tight rhythm work. Recorded at Cold Storage in Brixton and produced by Chris Grogon, the album blends traditional material, contemporary songwriting, and pointed social commentary. With standout tracks like Oxford Girl, The Early Days of a Better Nation, and their powerful reading of Billy Braggs Between the Wars, this edition is a strong Canadian issue for collectors of 80s folkrock and Cooking Vinyls foundational catalog.
